Lila Hilfe takes the protection of personal data very seriously. We want you to know when we process which data and how we use it. All data obtained is processed exclusively in accordance with the relevant data protection regulations (in particular the Federal Data Protection Act and the EU General Data Protection Regulation in their current versions) within the scope of our own business purpose. A prerequisite for data processing by Lila Hilfe is that the data subject has given their consent. Before you consent to the processing of your personal data in the context of joining the association, we would like to inform you with this privacy policy about how we process personal data and what rights you have in this regard (Art. 13 GDPR).
2. Explanation of terms
a) Personal data is defined in Art. 4 No. 1 GDPR as ‘any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (hereinafter referred to as ’data subject‘); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name [...]’.
b) Processing means, according to Art. 4 No. 2 GDPR, "any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data or on sets of personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, distribution or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction."
3. Responsibility for data processing
Lila Hilfe e.V. (represented by its board of directors) is responsible for the processing of personal data and can be contacted at lilahilfe@systemli.org.

4. Subject matter and purpose of consent
We process the following personal data for the purposes listed below:
- Surname, first name
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Address (street, house number, postcode, city, country if applicable), telephone number if applicable, email address
- Account details (IBAN, BIC if applicable)
Data processing in connection with membership of the association is carried out for the following purposes:
- Maintaining a membership directory for Lila Hilfe (and, if applicable, networking individual members in local groups)
- Financial accounting for the association/administration of membership fees
- Enabling the association to contact members for purposes related to the association (e.g. to convene the general meeting, work in working groups or local groups)
5. Duration of processing
When a member leaves, we store their membership data for 10 years for tax purposes (Section 147 of the German Fiscal Code). After 10 years, all remaining data is deleted immediately. We ensure that data is deleted in a timely manner by deleting the relevant data annually on a predetermined date.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to obtain information about your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR). You can also request the correction of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR). In addition, under certain conditions, you have the right to erasure of data (Art. 17 GDPR), the right to restriction of data processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). You have the right to withdraw your consent to future processing at any time (Art. 7(3) GDPR). In addition, under certain conditions, you also have a right to object in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR (in the case of processing within the scope of a legitimate interest). Finally, you have the right to complain to the competent supervisory authority for data protection if you believe that the processing of your personal data by Lila Hilfe is not lawful.
